Phil Anderson, WØXI has provided the perfect text files to use for code practice. They are common high useage words, ham radio related words, Q signals, prosigns, and QSO abbreviations all in very handy text files to use with your favorite Morse code program.
He has also extensively delved into the learning process and his paper on the same page is well worth reading.
There are many good cw practice programs availabe on the web. I chose Just Learn Morse Code. Its a free download and can be found here - Just Learn Morse Code . It's completely intuitive and very easy to download and use. I created a shortcut on the desktop to make it even easier to access..
Then - download the .zip file from this web page and unzip it into the same folder as Just Learn Morse Code is located.
Next - launch Just Learn Morse Code, and under "Source" select Text file, click the play icon (right triangle), and select the file desired. The files are in a folder named CW Practice Text. The program has many features including speed, Koch, and tone settings.
This is just intended to be a little "quick start" note to assist potential users in getting started. Many thanks to Phil for doing the research and creating the text files.
